# Does Message an Assistant work with Custom Gpt's?

Welcome to the Make community!

No, the “Message an Assistant” module only works with **Custom Assistants**.

Custom GPTs are not available at the moment because OpenAI does not want others to use Custom GPTs via the API, because it is a consumer product, not an enterprise product.

If you want to use Custom GPTs via the API, you need to ask OpenAI to create the API for Custom GPTs first.
