:bullseye: What is your goal?

I’m looking for a way to sync Groupon orders to Shopify, and validate Groupon redemption codes customers submit in Shopify. Has anyone else done this?

:thinking: What is the problem?

Groupon just seems to have CSV export to their Exported Reports tab inside their Merchant Dashboard. It sometimes contains names like “Guest User” and doesn’t have customer contact info, just a name and voucher code, but not the customer’s redemption code. It’s really not enough to setup Shopify orders.

:test_tube: What have you tried so far?

I created this Groupon redemption page on Shopify, which just does basic checking, but I need it to validate instantly with Groupon.

I haven’t been able to find any connector apps in Make, Zapier, Shopify Apps, external apps, APIs or webhooks.

Groupon has been around long enough that I’m sure there’s people out there who’ve dealt with this issue before and hopefully some see this message and can tell me the best way to solve it, thank you!

Hey there,

as far as I know Groupon uses openapi and has some documentation available on their website. You can try accessing it with the generic HTTP module.

There are no useful webhooks that can be used as a trigger as far as I’m aware, but you can use some polling. Also I don’t think there is an endpoint you can use to validate codes at all.
