Handling connections with accounts that have to change passwords

What are you trying to achieve?

Hi all, wondering what is best practice to handle connections in Make with accounts that must update passwords periodically. Due to security policies, we must update passwords every few months at my workplace, except for a handful of admin accounts.

As we add more people to our make org, users are adding their own connections, eg to google or to arcgis online. We can just tell users they need to go in and reauthorize their connections every 3 months, its not the end of the world. Just wondering if there is some other option and what others are doing with medium sized or larger Make teams.

Steps taken so far

Reauthorize connections periodically.

Connections like OAuth stores the authorised connection as a token. When the password changes the old token is rightfully invalidated, and therefore you need to reconnect to get a new token.

May I recommend that the system administrator set up a shared account with a non-expiring password just for the Make connection, so that it does not have to be so frequently updated?

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.

Thanks samliew thats what we were looking at doing, just wondering what other options there were but what you said makes sense.
