Hey Makers 👋

We’re Chek Creative — a web & growth agency (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify) — and we’re actively building a **bench of senior automation engineers** to support a growing pipeline of client work.

Automation is currently a small but fast-growing part of our business (~2% today, targeting 10%+ over the next 6–12 months), and we’re looking for experienced partners to grow with us.

## What we’re looking for

Senior-level [Make.com](http://Make.com) builders who can:

- Design and implement end-to-end automation systems (not just task-based scenarios)
- Own CRM, marketing ops, and lead attribution workflows
- Build robust integrations using APIs, webhooks, and custom logic
- Communicate clearly with clients (mostly async, occasional calls)

This is not a junior role — we’re looking for people who can own solutions, not just execute tickets.

## Common project types

- CRM + marketing automation pipelines
- Lead routing, enrichment, and attribution systems
- API-driven integrations across SaaS tools
- Internal automation tooling (occasionally)

## Tech stack (ideal experience)

### Required:

- [Make.com](http://Make.com) (advanced)
- APIs + webhooks (strong working knowledge)

### Strong bonus if you have experience with:

- GraphQL
- TypeScript / JavaScript (for custom functions or middleware)
- Supabase
- Airtable
- CMSs (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify)
- Data modeling / database design
- Experience building reliable, fault-tolerant automations (error handling, retries, logging, idempotency, drift handling) is a big plus

## Engagement details

- Ongoing contractor work (not a one-off project)
- Hourly: **$75–$95/hr**
- Fully remote
- Async-first communication (minimal meetings)

We’re building a long-term partner bench, not just filling a single role.

If you enjoy solving messy, real-world systems problems and building scalable automation — we’d love to connect.

— Josh @ Chek Creative

Hi Josh,

This is exactly the kind of work I specialize in, building scalable, multi-client automation systems in [Make.com](http://Make.com) with deep API and webhook integrations.

I’ve designed and maintained end-to-end workflows across CRM and marketing ops, including lead routing, enrichment, attribution, AI-driven communication (OpenAI), and internal tooling. A big focus of my work is building reusable, parameterized scenarios that can be deployed across multiple client accounts with minimal friction, especially in agency environments.

On the reliability side, I implement structured error handling, retries, logging, and idempotent workflows to ensure systems remain stable at scale. I’m also comfortable working with custom APIs, JSON parsing, and complex conditional logic, and I’ve integrated tools like Airtable, Google Sheets, and various CRM platforms (including GoHighLevel).

I work async-first, communicate clearly, and can take ownership of systems from architecture through deployment and iteration.

Happy to share examples and walk through how I approach building fault-tolerant automation systems.

You can reach me here or via email: [fopefoluwaakinola@gmail.com](mailto:fopefoluwaakinola@gmail.com)

Looking forward to connecting.

Hey Josh, this caught my attention as I’m already building the kind of systems you’re looking to scale.

I work primarily with [Make.com](http://Make.com) at a system level not just scenarios, but full pipelines across CRM, lead routing, enrichment, and attribution. Most of my recent work involves API-heavy builds, custom webhook logic, and making sure workflows are reliable (error handling, retries, clean data mapping, etc.).

I’m very comfortable owning projects end-to-end and working async with clients, especially where requirements are a bit messy and need structuring into clean, scalable systems.

Happy to connect and see how I can contribute as you grow this side of the business. You can book a call [here](https://calendly.com/philipadeniji655) to discuss further.

Hi Josh,

This is a strong fit. I’m Priyanshu Kumar, Founder of Evara AI — I build end-to-end automation systems and production AI pipelines for businesses.

Relevant to what you’re building:

- **API integrations & webhooks** — my core strength. Recent project: orchestrated 5 API operations (contact creation, matter population, document generation, calendar, email) through a single webhook trigger for a law firm’s intake system.

- **Supabase** — I use it daily as my primary database layer. Built a multi-agent AI system with 12+ Supabase tables, shared context layers, and real-time data pipelines.

- **CRM & marketing automation** — built lead capture flows, automated reporting dashboards, and notification systems across Slack, email, and WhatsApp.

- **[Make.com](http://Make.com) + n8n** — experienced with both. I choose the right tool based on complexity — [Make.com](http://Make.com) for client-maintainable workflows, custom code for systems that need to scale.

- **Error handling & fault tolerance** — every system I build has retry logic, dead-letter queues, and monitoring. Nothing fails silently.

Stack: Python, FastAPI, Node.js, TypeScript, Supabase, PostgreSQL, Claude/OpenAI APIs, [Make.com](http://Make.com), n8n, Docker.

Available 6-8 hours/day, fully remote, async-first. Happy to do a trial project.

Hi Josh, welcome to the community.

This aligns closely with the kind of systems I build.

I focus on designing end to end automation architectures in Make, especially across CRM, marketing ops and API driven workflows. I’ve worked on lead routing, enrichment, multi step logic, and building reusable systems that scale across multiple client environments.

I also place strong emphasis on reliability, including proper error handling, retries, logging, and maintaining stable long running automations.

You can check out some related automation builds here in my [website portfolio](https://mavin-collins.my.canva.site/flowedge-portfolio-website).

If it makes sense, feel free to DM me and I’d be happy to discuss and get started in your project scope.

Best regards,

**Hey Josh,**

I think it’s a perfect fit.

I’ve been a **Test Automation Engineer (Python/Pytest)** for 4 years, and lately, I’ve been freelancing specifically in **AI and [Make.com](http://Make.com) automations.** **Here is why we should talk:**

- **I don’t need hand-holding:** You mentioned you want someone who “owns solutions.” That’s me. I take a messy business problem and turn it into a working system. You give me the goal, and I’ll handle the logic, the edge cases, and the deployment.

- **I build for “Production,” not just “Demos”:** Coming from a QA Automation background, I’m obsessed with things not breaking. I don’t just “connect bubbles” in Make; I build with error handling, logging, and retries so you don’t get pings from clients at 2 AM.

- **Deep Technical Stack:** I’m highly experienced with complex APIs and Webhooks. If a native module doesn’t exist, I’ll write the custom logic to make it work.

- **Async-First:** I’m already working as a freelancer. I know how to document my work and communicate clearly without needing 5 meetings a week.

Hey Josh,

Exactly the kind of work I do daily. I build end-to-end [Make.com](http://Make.com) automation systems — not one-off scenarios, but full CRM pipelines, lead routing with enrichment, attribution tracking, and API-heavy integrations across SaaS stacks.

Relevant experience that maps to your needs:

- Built multi-step lead routing + attribution systems connecting CRMs, marketing tools, and custom APIs
- Heavy webhook + API integration work (REST and GraphQL)
- Supabase, Airtable, and database-backed automation architectures
- Error handling, retry logic, logging, and idempotency built into every system
- Comfortable with TypeScript/JS for custom middleware when Make alone isn’t enough

I work async-first, own projects end-to-end, and communicate clearly — no hand-holding needed.

Happy to start with a scoped pilot project so you can evaluate the work before committing to ongoing engagement.

**Hi Josh,**

I saw your post about building a bench of Senior Engineers at Chek Creative. I don’t just “build scenarios”—I design scalable systems that stay stable as a business grows.

**Why I’m a strong addition to your bench:**

- **Engineering First:** I build with **error handling, retries, and idempotency** as standard. I understand that for your clients (WP/Shopify), a broken lead attribution flow means lost revenue, so I build for reliability.

- **Deep Tech Stack:** Beyond advanced **[Make.com](http://Make.com)**, I’m comfortable with **TypeScript/JS** for custom logic and **Supabase/Airtable** for complex data modeling. I can handle GraphQL and REST APIs without issues.

- **Ownership:** I’m used to taking a “messy” business problem and turning it into a clean, automated workflow. I prefer owning the architecture from discovery to final documentation.

- **Agency Experience:** I understand the growth agency model. I communicate clearly, mostly async, and focus on delivering high-velocity results for CRM and marketing ops.

I’m looking for a long-term partnership where I can handle the technical heavy lifting while your team scales.

Hi Josh! I realize this post is from March, but it’s very aligned with the kind of partner work I’m looking for.

I’m a Toronto-based Laravel/API developer building workflow systems around Make, webhooks, backend logic, client intake, dashboards, SMS/email notifications, and error handling.

My strongest fit is where an agency needs more than app-to-app scenarios:

- custom API/webhook logic
- lead intake and routing
- CRM/marketing ops workflows
- client-facing portals or internal dashboards
- Make as orchestration, with Laravel/custom backend when needed
- error visibility, retries, documentation, and handoff

Relevant proof I can share:

- Make bridge: Laravel event =\> Make webhook =\> routing =\> Sheets/Gmail/error paths
- reliability walkthrough: queues, webhook logs, retries, failed jobs, operator review
- intake workflow: public request link =\> file uploads =\> private request inbox =\> notifications/timeline

I’m especially interested in white-label or overflow implementation where the agency keeps the client relationship and I handle technical delivery.

Hi Josh, I can help with the CRM/marketing automation and API/webhook side of this.

What I understood: Chek Creative needs partners who can own full Make systems, not just single scenarios: lead routing, enrichment, attribution, SaaS integrations, custom logic, and reliable error handling.

My strongest fit is practical business systems: CRM/workflow automation, web platforms, APIs, JavaScript/PHP/SQL, data modeling, QA, and agent-assisted research/cleanup. For Make work I would start by mapping the full flow, expected failure cases, logging/retry/idempotency needs, then ship a small controlled scenario or improvement first.

One question: do you already have a sample client workflow where you evaluate new partners, or should I suggest a small paid test around lead routing/enrichment?

Happy to continue by DM.

Hey Josh,

I’m a senior [Make.com](http://Make.com) automation engineer with 600+ delivered projects (mostly agencies and mid-market SaaS). I spec, build, and own end-to-end systems — CRM pipelines, lead routing, API integrations, fault-tolerant architectures.

I’m comfortable with your stack (advanced [Make.com](http://Make.com), APIs/webhooks, GraphQL, TypeScript, Supabase, Airtable, WordPress/Shopify). I care about error handling, retries, logging, and systems that don’t silently fail.

I’m fully remote, async-first, and I’ve spent the last few years proving I can communicate clearly with clients and deliver clean handoff docs. I also have experience scaling work by delegating to trusted sub-builders — so I can handle volume without compromise.

Your 2% → 10% automation growth play is exactly the kind of work I enjoy. Ongoing partnership, not one-offs.

Rate: $75–$95/hr (comfortable in your band). Can start immediately.

Grab a time if you want to chat: [https://cal.com/alasless/15min](https://cal.com/alasless/15min)

Cheers,

Hi Josh. This looks aligned with my strongest area: Make systems that need API/webhook logic, CRM/marketing attribution, error handling, and client-safe handoff documentation.

I would be most useful on projects where the scenario has to behave like production infrastructure, not just a one-off automation.

A good first step could be one paid client workflow with clear acceptance criteria and run notes.

Hi Josh, I can help as a senior [Make.com](http://Make.com) automation contractor for client workflow builds, especially where Make needs API/webhook logic, reliability and clear handoff rather than simple app-to-app scenarios. Best-fit work for me: CRM and lead attribution across forms, WordPress/Webflow/Shopify, HubSpot/Pipedrive/Airtable/Sheets; webhook/API middleware with JavaScript/TypeScript or small Node/Python helpers when Make alone becomes brittle; error handling, retries, idempotency, run logs, alerting and client-safe documentation; AI/LLM steps for classification, enrichment or drafting with human review where needed. For a first engagement I would suggest one paid 8-12 hour client workflow block, or a fixed milestone with clear acceptance criteria. Typical rate: 75-90 USD/hour depending on scope. I am based in Spain/CET, comfortable async, and can start from sanitized payloads or a staging scenario before production access. If you are still building the bench, send one representative client workflow and I can map the first milestone and timeline.

Hi Josh — this is aligned with the kind of overflow work I want to take on.

I’m Sile, running a small automation/data ops desk (Deligeer Ops). My best-fit work is the messy layer behind client projects: Make scenarios that need API/webhook logic, CRM lead routing/attribution, Sheets/Airtable/Notion/Monday data flows, and error handling/logging rather than simple app-to-app zaps.

Where I can be useful for Chek:

- triage an existing scenario and make it safer for production: retries, failure alerts, idempotency notes, runbook
- build a scoped intake/routing workflow from a form, Shopify, WordPress, or Webflow into the client CRM
- add small JS/Python middleware when Make alone gets brittle

I don’t want to oversell from a forum reply. A good first step would be one paid 6-10 hour pilot, or a fixed milestone around a sanitized client workflow. I can map the flow, build the first piece, and leave handoff notes your team can review.

If you’re still adding to the bench, send one representative client workflow and I’ll scope the first milestone.

Hi Josh,

I came across your post and wanted to reach out, even though it’s been a few months.

At Flowbird Ltd, we’re a Make Partner and regularly deliver end-to-end automation solutions across CRM, marketing operations, lead routing, attribution, and API-driven integrations.

One area where we’ve built significant experience is within fintech and crypto-related businesses. We’ve worked on automations involving KYB/KYC processes, onboarding workflows, compliance checks, document verification, and integrations with providers such as Sumsub. We’ve also helped clients automate customer onboarding journeys, risk assessment processes, and operational workflows where reliability, auditability, and secure data handling are critical.

Alongside [Make.com](http://Make.com), we have experience with GraphQL, JavaScript-based integrations, Airtable, Supabase, WordPress, Shopify, and custom API integrations. We place a strong focus on building fault-tolerant automations with robust error handling, retries, logging, and monitoring.

We’ve partnered with businesses across multiple industries and are comfortable working as an extension of an agency team, whether that’s client-facing collaboration or white-label delivery.

If you’re still growing your automation partner network, or if you’d like an additional partner for specialist projects, I’d be happy to connect.

Feel free to DM me or email me at [roshanr@flowbird.co.uk](mailto:roshanr@flowbird.co.uk).

Many Thanks,

Roshan
