# How to get month name by number

I am trying to get only the number or the name of the [month](https://www.monthname.in/) from a date. For example,  
if the date is ‘1/1/2023’ then it will get 1 or Jan.

As @Pathfinder_Automate shared the shot.  
You need to use the `formatDate` function and pass the relevant token for specific dates.
