How to practice with Make

Hey hey!!

I am trying to get better at Make, I want to try variety of automations, but what holds me back is the subscription for various tools, even if I have a solution I need to verify it with trial and error , I can’t suggest tools to my clients without being fully able to test it and to buy all the subscription is a very expensive option

Any suggestions on how should I work ?

Would like to hear from experts or anyone who had faced this issue but then found a way

Hi @Srushti_Pagrut,

Many Makers in this community know the struggle! With Make, you can connect thousands of tools, but how can I have thousands of subscriptions…

Three solutions if you want to freeload* various tools:

  1. See if they offer a free / sandbox account for developers. Many tools do, because they see the added value of developers creating integrations. As a developer, you get a free sandbox account in exchange for connectivity. If you cannot find it online, just ask their support.
  2. Trial after trial; some tools offer a 30 or 14 day trial period, which you can (ab)use. If you time it correctly, you can start a trial, test and draw up an offer for your customer. Less ethical, but still possible, is just creating trial after trial by creating new accounts… with e-mail aliases if necessary.
  3. If you have a customer that uses a tool unknown to you, just ask them if you can do some tests with their account, although you should be cautionary if you are testing in a production environment.

*with freeload, I mean: Testing with and developing for, always start a subscription if you want to use a tool.

Cheers,
Henk

Hello @Srushti_Pagrut,
Try if there are options available as per suggestions of @Henk-Operative.

It’s understood that we don’t have a subscription to all the regularly used tools. Different people used different sets of tools.

But before going to those different sets of tools, Initially go with 🟣 Make Academy: Course Overview. Make sure you also practice it.
Then you understand all the basics of the most used modules.
I hope this helps. :+1:

Thank you so much for the insights and sorry for the late reply ( holidays !! )

I will be doing the work combining the 3 solutions you shared

Thank you so much for the suggestion and sorry for the late reply ( holidays !! )
