New column in Google Sheet created after adding module in scenario not being detected

Hi!

I created a scenario that works as expected. Webhook → response sent to a specific table in a sheet within Google Sheets → MSFT Teams notification. So far so good.

Then I wanted a new field to be added and mapped all the way so I created a column in the sheet, updated my webhook and now I have the message being sent, it’s captured in step 1, but I cannot map it to Google sheets module because it’s not detecting the new column and not offering me where to save it.

Is there anything I can do or should I create the mapping from scratch and waste a lot of time?

Thanks!

Refresh the Google Sheets module fields.

  1. Open the module

  2. Click the spreadsheet field again

  3. Re-select:

    • the spreadsheet

    • the sheet/tab

  4. Wait a few seconds

Make often reloads the columns after re-selecting the sheet.

If that does not work, delete and recreate ONLY the Google Sheets module.

Hi Neil,

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately it does not work at all.

I tried this yesterday, tried again today.

It seems Make is awful at keeping things updated and once it gets a header list, they completely refuse to read again. I even created a new module and this new module finds the new columns, so it’s not caching scenario or file level, they’re doing some sort of caching module level, which is horrible and could lead to headaches if you have to use different readings or processing N times, you’ll have to check for every module if they’re synced or even recreating every N module you need.

Horrible, horrible practice from Make.

I wish they change this asap. I mean, I want to automate, not manually refresh or recreate my workflows, I already have manual work and look for automation tools to tackle precisely that.

I was enjoying the tool until now.
