I am very new to Make so please bear with me if I make any stupid assumptions.

I have prepared a scenario where a Google Form is completed and this adds a row to a Google Sheet. Tools put it to sleep for three minutes before sending an email through an SMTP connection (I use IONOS). It records the email in Sent Items.

This works perfectly in Google Forms but when I replace this scenario with a Custom Webhook it sends two emails for every entry.

The Google Sheet shows it as processed only once.

Has anyone else come across this problem and how did you overcome it?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi

Could you please share screenshots of your scenario? Or blueprint at best

Thanks

Hi,

Here’s a screenshot of the scenario.

Please let me know if your need any more details.

Thanks,

Hi Mike\_Sheehan

If I am not mistaken, a google form can already automatically add a row to a spreadsheet.
So why not instead, use the Google Sheets “Watch New Row” to trigger the sending of the email?

As per the duplicate in email, could you share the output of the latest module “Email” for one of your logs?

Hi Tatiana,

Sorry for the delay, I’ve just seen your post.

I will be out for an hour, then I will try that now and will post the results.

Thanks,

Mike

I couldn’t really get the Google Sheets “Watch New Row” to work properly, so I’m leaving that for now.

I’ve attached the history page and that shows every time it is used it only uses 3 operations, equivalent to sending one mail, but two are actually sent. It deducts 6 operations from my balance.

In order to produce a log for the emails I have to turn “Always On” off on the scenario and switch to Manual, and when I do this it works correctly and only sends one email, but that defeats the object of the Webhook.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi @Mike_Sheehan

Technically, it seems fine, you are costing 3 or 4 operations that is equivalent to the number of modules. In this situation, your problem seems a bug. Could you please share the output of the first module and screenshot of scenario after running it??

I am now running my fourth attempt at creating a scenario where a Google Form is submitted, recorded in a Google Sheet and a confirmation email is sent back to the submitter. A very simple process for Make.

This works fine prior to converting the Google Form into a Webhook. When I convert it into a Webhook it sends two emails for every entry. For my first webhook it was sending five emails.

My setup is:

**Support Ticket Google Form** [Support Ticket](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScU3ZZNFY1zIdcSpZsOsLxJQGNEWxQ5PQqaejqF-p5M5UsfoQ/viewform)

I agree with you that it is a bug in Webhooks and look forward to your help in resolving this as many others must be having the same problem.
