When I run the scenario, the Text Parser receives “empty” input, even though the webhook data clearly contains the value. The Text Parser works perfectly when I hardcode the value “Nomsa Zulu” instead of using the variable.
What is the problem & what have you tried?
I have also tried:
Using a Set Variable module to store {{webhook.employee_name}} – the Set Variable also shows “empty”
Re-mapping the variable multiple times
Recreating the Text Parser module
Using a Router to duplicate the data flow
None of these workarounds resolve the issue. The variable is not being passed from the Webhook module to any downstream module, even though it is visible in the webhook data.
If the webhook History shows the field but every mapped pill is empty at runtime, it is usually a schema / path mismatch rather than Text Parser itself.
Things that have fixed this for me:
Open the webhook module output bubble and map from the exact path shown there (sometimes it is nested under data or uses different casing than the sample you typed)
After changing the webhook payload shape, delete the Text Parser, run the webhook once with a real payload, then re-add the parser so Make learns the new structure
Avoid typing {{webhook.employee_name}} by hand if the panel shows a different module number; use the pill from that run
If you can share one redacted webhook output bundle, it is usually obvious whether the value is root-level or nested.
