Hello 👋🏽, I’m Kulthum.

This is my very first Make scenario and I’m trying to automate my WhatsApp outreach. My goal is to send bulk introductory messages to my leads using the WhatsApp Business Cloud → Send a Message Template module.

It seemed simple at first, but every time I run the scenario

 ![Screenshot_20251118_221824_Chrome](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex013/uploads/make/original/3X/b/9/b92a1353c68bfad9ecb59c51dfe0cfb0f2ca2643.jpeg)

 ![Screenshot_20251118_221812_Chrome](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex013/uploads/make/original/3X/9/b/9b6468051dc4fb0d3f7c92f09ac65243af20e4d1.jpeg)

I keep getting errors, especially:

“Missing value of required parameter: to”

When I created my template inside WhatsApp Manager, I did not include any variables (placeholders like {{1}}, {{2}}). It’s just plain text. So I assumed I don’t need to write anything in the payload section.

I’m not sure if the issue is coming from:

My phone number formatting,

The Google Sheets mapping,

Or something inside the WhatsApp module.

If anyone has experience with bulk messaging using WhatsApp Cloud API inside Make, I would be very grateful for your guidance. 🙏

Thank you so much!

Kulthum

Hello,

Welcome to the community!

Could you please share a screenshot of your module’s configuration?

The error states that you are missing the `to` parameter - the recipient’s phone number.

Welcome to the Make community!

Yes, that is possible. You’ll need a minimum of two modules:

 ![Screenshot 2025-11-19 153905](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex013/uploads/make/original/3X/5/7/5729f7c61a7a4d7c866c9a3ea0b13e4d42268de1.png)

Make sure you’ve mapped the variable containing the recipient’s phone number into the **Receiver** field.

This is just an example. Your final solution may or may not look like this depending on your requirements.

Hope this helps! If you are still having trouble, please [provide more details](https://community.make.com/t/mastering-the-make-community-get-started/11682).

P.S.: investing some effort into the tutorials in the [Make Academy](https://academy.make.com) will save you lots of time and frustration using Make!

Welcome to the Make community!

We’d love to help, however, we require more information that demonstrates the problem to help us reproduce the scenario and any issues and errors.

To allow others to assist you, please provide the following:

## 1. All Relevant Screenshots

We need to see what you’re working with to give you the best advice. Screenshots are important because Make is a visual editor — a picture provides us with more context.

It would help us identify the issue by having screenshots of:

- the **full scenario** , and the zoomed in parts of the scenario that you are referring to (if your scenario is huge),
- a **full scenario run/execution** from the history (showing output “speech” bubbles),
- relevant **module fields** (_showing how you’ve used any built-in functions, and how you’ve mapped the variables_),
- relevant filters between modules (_showing which operators and any built-in functions you’ve used, and how you’ve mapped the variables_),
- relevant module input/output bubbles,
- if applicable, any error messages,
- and if applicable, any external services (_spreadsheet headers/ sample data/ regex101.com/ etc. to show the item/ record exists, and is set up correctly_).

⚠ **Please take screenshots using the “Windows Snipping Tool”, by pressing the “Print Screen”/“Prt Scr” key on your keyboard.**

## 2. Scenario Blueprint

Providing your scenario will allow others to quickly recreate and see how you have set up the mappings in each module, and also allows us take screenshots or provide module exports of any solutions we have for you in return. This would benefit you in implementing our suggestions as you can view screenshots of the changes or paste corrected modules back into your scenario.

## 3. Module Output Bundles

Please provide the **output bundles** (_input bundles are not so crucial_) of each of the relevant modules by running the scenario, or get output bundles from a previous scenario run from the [“History” tab](https://www.make.com/en/help/scenarios/scenario-execution-history).

Providing the output bundles will allow others to replicate what is going on in the scenario, especially if there are complex data structures (nested arrays and collections), especially if external services are involved, and help you with mapping the raw property names from collections.
