Why do routes that start with array aggregators being ignored / skipped?

My scenario has multiple routes that start with array aggregators. I’ve noticed that these routes get skipped over, or ignored completely:

I tried troubleshooting by adding a variable module at the start but it’s still not working:

What’s going on here — and more importantly, how do I fix it?
