I want to take a database file on a local hdd and import contacts to Zoho, then have a welcome email sent to each contact immediately after import.
I am just getting started with the Make Academy, and would appreciate any suggestions to help get me started.
Welcome to the Make community!
Make can’t access your hard disk, unless it’s contents are synced to the cloud like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.
What format is your database in? If it’s an excel sheet, you could upload it to Google Drive and set the option to convert it to a Google Sheet.
Then, you can get the data using the Google Sheets “Search Rows” module —
Returns results matching the given criteria.
You’ll need a minimum of three modules:
This is just an example. Your final solution may or may not look like this depending on your requirements.
For more information, see https://www.make.com/en/integrations/google-sheets, and https://www.make.com/en/help/app/google-sheets in the help centre.
Here are some useful links and guides you can use to learn more on how to use the Make platform, apps, and app modules. I found these useful when I was learning Make, and hope they might benefit you too —

P.S.: Investing some effort into the Make Academy will save you lots of time and frustration using Make.
Thank you very much. It will be a .csv file. It’s coming from an .mdb file.
That’s great. Just make sure you get it on the cloud so you can use Make to access it.
