You are correct, using the Column ID is better for most cases when it comes to persistence. The usage of this function still depends on the use case.
Using the Column ID enables you to have persistence over column name changes, most users would still use the Column Name instead of the Column ID because that’s easier to use when reviewing the runs/logs.
