Cannot send ics files with RSVP on Make

Hello Make Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am encountering an issue with the Send Email module on Make when attempting to send ICS (iCalendar) files that include RSVP functionality. Specifically, the module does not allow me to add the necessary Content-Type: text/calendar header. This header is essential for email clients to recognize the email as a calendar invitation and to properly display the RSVP options to recipients.

Details of the Issue:

  • Module Used: Send Email
  • Functionality Attempted: Sending ICS files with RSVP
  • Problem Encountered: Unable to set the Content-Type to text/calendar
  • Impact: Recipients do not see the RSVP option and cannot respond to event invitations directly from the email

Steps I’ve Taken So Far:

  1. Created an ICS file with the necessary RSVP parameters.
  2. Attempted to attach the ICS file using the Send Email module.
  3. Reviewed the module settings but could not find an option to modify or add the Content-Type header to text/calendar.
  4. Tested sending the email, and the ICS file is received, but without the RSVP functionality.

Questions:

  1. Is there a way to set the Content-Type to text/calendar within the Send Email module or any other module in Make?
  2. Are there any recommended workarounds to successfully send ICS files with RSVP functionality using Make?
  3. Has anyone else successfully implemented this feature, and if so, could you share your approach?

Having the ability to send calendar invitations with RSVP is crucial for my workflow, and any assistance or guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support!

Best regards,

Welcome to the Make community!

I can definitely see your issue here.

This is only a community-supported forum and we can’t modify the module, and the official way to log your bug report is via the Ticketing System to get your request triaged by Make Staff.

For technical issues or bugs like this, directly contacting support can often lead to a faster resolution. They have access to your specific account details, scenario and scenario logs, server-side logs, and internal tools and resources, which allows them to investigate more thoroughly than what you have access to. Additionally, sharing sensitive information about your account or scenario might not be suitable for an open forum discussion.

You can open a new ticket here, or if you are unable to login for some reason, you can create another new free account to access the ticketing system (which is only available to logged-in users). After submitting a new ticket, you will receive an automatic confirmation email with the subject “Ticket Created” in the subject. If you do not receive this, try sending the ticket again.

If you manage to get your issue resolved with support, we’d still love to hear about it! Sharing your solution on the forum can help others facing similar problems.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.
