According to https://help.openai.com/en/articles/8555510-gpt-4-turbo-in-the-openai-api,
The most recent version of model can be accessed by passing “
gpt-4-turbo-preview” as the model name in the API.
and according to https://platform.openai.com/docs/models/gpt-4-and-gpt-4-turbo,
gpt-4-turbo-preview Currently points to gpt-4-0125-preview
Therefore to answer your question,
Yes. The newest GPT4 Turbo model is currently gpt-4-0125-preview as of 20th Feb 2024, but will change in the future.
To ensure you are always using the latest model, use “gpt-4-turbo-preview” (without the four digits which is the month and date in the format MMDD)
