Yo! New client same social media situation… The client desires to have linkedin as the main platform by which they operate. This time I have credentials.
Now… I was all happy having them but, How on earth can you set up a scenario to watch a users LinkedIn profile (not a company profile) AND use linkedin as the trigger populate the rest of social media? To me it seems like it should be straight forward but it is absolutely not or i keep demonstrating i’m a total rookie at this…
Let’s say I try the route of API call after oauthorizing in the linkedin API call module… How does one determine the URL to enter… it’s the API end point right? If i’m right… .how does one find this damn end point.?!
On a different note: My only route to solve this problem as of today … and i know its not right… Is using phantom buster to scrub the profile’s posts and provide me with output via webhook, parsing that and formattting for the various social medias.
Any support here would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the Make community!
If the external service has a Developer API Reference/Documentation then you should be able to integrate the endpoints in Make using the app’s universal module (Make an API call) or generic HTTP “Make a request” module.
You can also suggest for it to be made in the Idea exchange. Don’t forget to search for it first, just in case someone already suggested it, so that you don’t end up creating a duplicate.
If you need assistance in setting up the app’s universal module, or the generic HTTP module, please provide additional information about what you have tried with regards to the external service’s Developer API Reference – how you are setting the connection up, a link to the endpoint are you trying to connect to, and what errors you are encountering.
You can also complete this brand new course/tutorial in the Make Academy on how to use external APIs — API calls with HTTP modules
- API and Endpoints
- Header and body
- Multipart/form-data
- OAuth 2.0
Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.
