RSS to Instagram

Hello!

I’m trying to set up grabbing the image from the latest article in an RSS feed to post to Instagram. I’m using Watch RSS Feed Items module then linked to Instagram for Business Create a Photo Post but am struggling to find what I should put in the ‘Photo URL’ field. I assumed it would be the ‘image: URL’ item but it’s wrong so have tried other random 'url’s from the list but always get this error: BundleValidationError

Validation failed for 1 parameter(s).

  • Missing value of required parameter ‘image_url’.

I’m very new to this and am stuck! I’ve tried with a couple of other RSS feeds because I thought maybe this current one didn’t have the right elements for me to pick up but they’re all similar. Can anyone tell me how to make this scenario work please? Thanks a lot.

P.S. I think I also need to do the Academy course!

Your Source URL variable appears to be empty. Mapping an empty variable in a required field would definitely cause a runtime error.

Perhaps create a filter to check if the variable exists first before posting to Instagram.

@samliew Thanks very much for your reply.

I don’t know how to make a filter but I decided to examine the RSS feed and, although the images are jpg, they seem t be hosted on AWS Cloudfront - I guess that would be the problem?

I won’t give up and will try some other sources. I could have used the RSS from one of my sites but all the images are converted to WebP for loading speed.

I will mark this question as solved now. Thanks.
