Using ChatGPTs Assistants with GPT-4o after make.com update

I want to use Assistants I created for ChatGPT (and specific Threads within the Assistants) with GPT-4o through make.com

I am aware that this was not possible (or only with quite complex workarounds), as make.com did not support the “v2” API for assistants. However, this week there was an announcement on some posts, that make.com did update its modules and GPT-4o should now work with assistants, too.

What I seem to have understood is that the old specific “Assistants” module has not been updated and that I am required to use an updated “completions” module. I have used the completions module for ordinary chat conversations, however I have not succeeded in using the completions module with an assistant that I have created in the OpenAI Playground.

With the old Assistants module I get this error message:

The operation failed with an error. [400] The requested model ‘gpt-4o’ cannot be used with the Assistants API in v1. Follow the migration guide to upgrade to v2: https://platform.openai.com/docs/assistants/migration.

In the completions module, I cannot find a way to direct it to a specific assistant:

Any help that could guide me through the process of connecting make.com with OpenAI / ChatGPT assistants using the GPT 4o model would be highly appreciated!

I do not believe the post announcing the new modules was very clear above as it implies you need to now use Create a Completion vs Message an Assistant. What I found after testing is there is a new Message an Assistant module which no longer says deprecated but otherwise looks similar and does work with the 4o agent. Sadly, it does appear you need to go in and replace every existing module with the new module and recreate all of your information vs just ‘upgrade’ the ones in use.
