WhatsApp connection to Slack - Back and forth messaging

Hello.

I want to be able to connect my WhatsApp to Slack, so I can talk to my customers on Slack and they can see my message and reply on their own WhatsApp.

Whenever I get a new client, I start a WhatsApp group with my client, my project manager and my sales manager. We have multiple WhatsApp groups with our clients, so we want to switch our communication to Slack, so we can follow up to our client on Slack and not get distracted with personal messaging.

I want this to be the same as always for our customer, so they can talk to us from their own WhatsApp, without changing anything for them.

Could someone help me? How can I achieve this outcome?

Welcome to the Make community!

It is likely possible but highly complex to achieve since you’ll basically need a data store/database to keep track of customers and conversation threads, while everything goes through 2 scenarios with instant triggers (one for events from WhatsApp, and one for events from Slack).

I would suggest completing the Make Academy before jumping into building a complete scenario. If you need specific assistance when you are building a scenario it’s easier to help you then. Otherwise, you can also hire a professional by posting a request in the Hire a Pro category.

Here are some useful links and guides you can use to learn more on how to use the Make platform, apps, and app modules. I found these useful when I was learning Make, and hope they might benefit you too —

P.S.: Investing some effort into the Make Academy will save you lots of time and frustration using Make.

This is possible with Make’s Slack application, but ultimately complex to achieve and will require a bunch of conditionals to make it work properly.

Alternatively, options that involve a bidirectional back and forth with Slack and WhatsApp exist. For example: Integrate WhatsApp with Slack — 2Chat.

Thank you both for your replies.

I have started with the Make Academy courses, they are really easy to understand.

If you have any further tips or knowledge I should have, I would be very grateful!
