Hoping someone can help with a weird issue on the Free plan.
I have 2 scenarios in my account — the Free plan limit is 2 active scenarios. However, when I try to activate my second scenario I get a popup saying “Congrats on maxing out the Make Free plan” and it won’t let me turn it on.
Both scenarios are currently toggled OFF. I’m not trying to exceed the limit — I just want both of my 2 scenarios active at the same time, which should be within the free tier.
Is this a bug? Or is the free plan actually limited to only 1 active scenario at a time despite saying 2? Any help appreciated!
What have you tried so far?
Logging out and back in again. Checking no draft scenarios lurking anywhere
Hello Alastair! This isn’t really a bug, just a confusing behavior that Make doesn’t explain well.
The Free plan does allow 2 active scenarios at the same time, you’re right about that. The issue is that Make sometimes counts a scenario as “active” if it was ever turned on in the past, even if it’s currently toggled off. So the system sees both slots as taken and blocks you from activating the second one.
The quickest fix to try is this: delete one of the two scenarios entirely (don’t just deactivate it, actually delete it), then recreate it from scratch. This resets the count and in most cases the problem disappears immediately.
If you don’t want to lose your setup, export the scenario first via the Blueprint menu so you can reimport it after.
If that still doesn’t work, open a support ticket directly from your Make dashboard. Describe it exactly as you did here, both scenarios are off and the system is still blocking activation. The support team can see the real count on their backend and fix it manually, usually pretty fast.
Hi Michal, thank your for your reply and suggestion. I have just tried that but it still think that I have more than two scenarios. I have tried to raise a support ticket as well but cannot for the life of me find the form to do so. Alastair
