Auto SRT files on Google Driver then Edit content and save new SRT file on new Folder

I want to create an automated workflow to handle multiple SRT files with the following detailed steps:

Step 1: Place multiple SRT files into a folder on Google Drive.
Step 2: Extract the file names and contents of the SRT files and input them into corresponding cells on Google Sheets.
Step 3: Use ChatGPT commands to rewrite the content to make it more engaging.
Step 4: Save ChatGPT’s output into a cell next to the original content in the same row.
Step 5: Use ChatGPT’s output to create a new SRT file with the following requirements and save it to Google Drive:

  1. The format must be an SRT file.
  2. The content must include the new text generated by ChatGPT.
  3. The file name must remain the same as the original file.
  4. Save the newly created file into a different folder.

Welcome to the Make community!

I would suggest completing the Make Academy before jumping into building a complete scenario. If you need specific assistance when you are building a scenario it’s easier to help you then. Otherwise, you can also hire a professional by posting a request in the Hire a Pro category.

Here are some useful links and guides you can use to learn more on how to use the Make platform, apps, and app modules. I found these useful when I was learning Make, and hope they might benefit you too —

If you need further assistance, please provide the following:

Relevant Screenshots

Please share screenshots of your scenario, any error messages, relevant module fields, and relevant filter settings. It would really help other community members to see what you’re looking at.

You can upload images here using the Upload icon in the text editor:

Scenario Blueprint

Please export the scenario blueprint file to allow others to view the mapped variables in the module fields. At the bottom of the scenario editor, you can click on the three dots to find the Export Blueprint menu item.

Output Bundles of Modules

Please provide the output bundles of the modules by running the scenario (or get from the scenario History tab), then click the white speech bubble on the top-right of each module and select “Download input/output bundles”.

A. Upload as Text File

Save each bundle contents in your text editor as a bundle.txt file, and upload it here into this discussion thread.

B. Insert as Formatted Code Block

If you are unable to upload files on this forum, alternatively you can paste the formatted bundles.
These are the two ways to format text so that it won’t be modified by the forum:

  • Method 1: Type code block manually

    Add three backticks ``` before and after the content/bundle, like this:

    ```
    content goes here
    ```

  • Method 2. Highlight and click the format button in the editor

Providing the input/output bundles will allow others to replicate what is going on in the scenario even if they do not use the external service.

By providing these details, it will allow others to assist you better.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.

P.S.: Investing some effort into the Make Academy will save you lots of time and frustration using Make.

Tks Samliew so much.

Can you help me a function with the following steps:

Step 1: Have multiple .srt files stored in a folder on Google Drive.

Step 2: Retrieve the file name of the .srt file into the File Name cell and copy all its content into the Content cell.

Step 3: Open the .srt file in Google Sheets using the file name from Step 2.

Step 4: Delete all content in the .srt file and paste the content copied in Step 2.

Thank you very much!
