Automating Content Population in Canva Templates Using Make.com

Hi everyone,
I am currently building a new automation scenario in Make.com and need guidance regarding integrating Canva templates. My specific requirement is as follows:

  • I have a pre-designed template in Canva with placeholders (e.g., for text, images, etc.).
  • I want to dynamically populate content into this Canva template whenever a new row is added to a Google Sheet.
From my research, I understand that Make.com offers a “Create a Design” action for Canva. However, as far as I know, this action creates a new design but doesn’t integrate with a predefined Canva template to populate content into placeholders.
Is there a way to work with predefined templates in Canva and dynamically update them using Make.com? If anyone has experience with this or can provide insights, I’d greatly appreciate your help.

Just use the Bulk Edit in Canva, and connect to google sheet. This is the best way and much easier.

Hi @Bismaya_Raju!

I’ve posted previously on this here.

The short answer is that there’s no way to do that currently unless you’re on a Canva Enterprise plan. This is a Canva limitation.

There are some alternatives though, explained in that post.
