Excel "Value must not be empty"

Hi Makers,

Having some trouble with the MS Excel module here!
For some reason I get the message “Value must not be empty” on fields that need to be left empty using the “Add a table row” module.
My scenario contains more of these modules, but only one of them is requiring this. What makes it even weirder is that this one module is a copy of another one.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi @Steven ,

Try to insert the {{emptystring}} keyword from the text functions and see if this resolves the issue.

Thanks @Callinetic , I tried that. I can save the module, which is progress. But not it throws errors. See screenshot.

Hi @Steven ,

Could you please give a little bit more context.
Do these parameters refer to your columns in your sheet?
Are these also empty like in your initial request? Or do you map values in these fields?

@Callinetic It doesn’t say what the parameters refer to. But I guess it’s the ones with the empty strings as they have no value. I don’t map values to these fields.

I have exactly the same issue with a xlsm file. I have a scenario running well with a xlsx file. But with the same file named .xlsm i have this issue.

I have not been able to solve this issue.

Hi @Steven and @Perrot,

It’s strange, as you mentioned, that the fields are required in one of the modules, while it’s a duplicate of another module where those fields are not required. Can you please try to:

  1. Download your blueprint.
  2. Open it in an editor
  3. Search for the fields in your blueprint.
  4. Remove the ‘required’ attribute from those fields.
  5. Save the changes.
  6. Import the updated blueprint into your scenario.

If these instructions are too technical, please feel free to upload your blueprint, and I will take a look.
