Google calendar new events in one cal automatically update another cal

:bullseye: What is your goal?

Hi I’m a newbie with very limited tech experience. I am trying to set up a scenario so that if I enter an event in one google calendar it will automatically update a different calendar by deleting the same block of time in another calendar.

Calendar 1 is my boardroom booking calendar where we booking reservations of the room. Calendar 2 is a public exhibition calendar that shows when the room is available to visitors to view and art exhibition.

I have created 2 modules, 1 connected to the boardroom bookings calendar with ‘watch event’ and one connected to the exhibition calendar with ‘create event’ but I can’t figure out what to do next?

 What is the problem?

I don’t think it’s finished don’t know what else to do next…

:test_tube: What have you tried so far?

Following a ChatGPT guide, doesn’t explain it well enough

Hey there,

maybe don’t delete the timeslot of the second calendar, instead create the event there as well so it blocks the timeslot, preventing others from booking it?
So create an event in the second calendar and map the time slot from the first event there.

Thanks Stoyan I guess that would work, though not ideal. So I ran the Make there to try it out and it created 11 events for now (11.04-12.04) in the Exhibition calendar but they weren’t related in anyway to the events booked on my boardroom calendar. I’ve done something wrong!

I tried something similar and ran into almost the same confusion at first. The idea of deleting slots sounds logical, but it actually gets messy fast. Creating a mirrored event in the second calendar feels way more stable since it just blocks time instead of trying to “remove availability” dynamically

Thanks Quintin - the support people said the same - I haven’t even managed that yet though and have run out of credits trying - not sure this programme is for me, can’t seem to get the hang of it! Thanks anyway.
