Google Drive Module Not Showing Folders

To fix the google drive watched files error

:thinking: What is the problem & what have you tried?

I have successfully connected my google drive account and created folders. When selecting the “watch folders module” the drop down section shows no folders to choose and gives and error code “failed to load data.”

Any help would be appreciated

I’ve summarized the key points from the documentation:

  1. Google Drive App Requirements – Connect your Google account via the standard OAuth flow, works for both Gmail and Google Workspace accounts.
  2. Creating the Connection – Add any Google Drive module → click “Create a connection” → sign in with Google → grant permissions.
  3. For Personal Gmail Accounts – You may need to create a Google Cloud project, enable Drive API, configure OAuth consent, and use custom Client ID + Secret.
  4. Scopes & Permissions – Ensure the correct scopes are enabled (full Drive and read-only) or triggers like “Watch files in a folder” may fail.
  5. Module Notes – Triggers like “Watch files in a folder” only appear if the connection is valid and scopes allow folder listing.
