Hi! I’ve been linking a Google Sheet to Mailchimp to upload contact data and tags, and have been triggering it with a button on the sheet (via a webhook). It worked yesterday but suddenly stopped working today.
The issue is that the Mailchimp Add/Update a Subscriber module (and only that module) failed with an error, and it says it failed for 2 parameter(s), both with the error “Missing value of required parameter ‘name’.”. I’ve double checked my settings and data and all required pieces of data should 1be filled in. The worrying thing is that the Mailchimp node says that the data size (input AND output bundles, I checked both and they’re either blank square brackets or null) is 0, but the bundes from the Google Sheets node directly before it are very much NOT nothing (12.6 KB)… It’s as if the output bundle from Google Sheets just never reaches the Mailchimp module.
I have no filters or anything between the Google Sheets module and the Mailchimp module. I’ve got 3 modules: the webhook, the Google Sheets module and the Mailchimp module. Is there any way I could potentially fix this?
Welcome to the Make community!
To allow us to assist you with your scenario, please provide the following:
1. Relevant Screenshots
Please share screenshots of your scenario, any error messages, relevant module fields, and filters in question? It would really help other community members to see what you’re looking at.
You can upload images here using the Upload icon in the text editor:
2. Scenario Blueprint
Please export the scenario blueprint file to allow others to view the mapped variables in the module fields. At the bottom of the scenario editor, you can click on the three dots to find the Export Blueprint menu item.
3. Output Bundles of Modules
Please provide the output bundles of the modules by running the scenario (or get from the scenario History tab), then click the white speech bubble on the top-right of each module and select “Download input/output bundles”.
A. Upload as Text File
Save each bundle contents in your text editor as a bundle.txt
file, and upload it here into this discussion thread.
B. Insert as Formatted Code Block
If you are unable to upload files on this forum, alternatively you can paste the formatted bundles. Here are the two ways to format text so that it won’t be changed by the forum:
-
Method 1: Type code block manually
Add three backticks ```
before and after the content/bundle, like this:
```
content goes here
```
-
Method 2. Highlight and click the format button in the editor
Providing the input/output bundles will allow others to replicate what is going on in the scenario even if they do not use the external service.
Following these steps will allow others to assist you here. Thanks!

Screenshot: Mailchimp input bundle. It’s empty.
Screenshot: Mailchimp output bundle. Not empty, but null.
Screenshot: Input/output bundles for Google Sheets. Everything seems fine.
Screenshot: Filter inspector that was between Google Sheets and Mailchimp modules. Note that it’s there, but wasn’t mentioned before because the error was happening even without it, so I didn’t find it to be relevant.
Here’s the blueprint of the scenario.

What about the screenshot of the Mailchimp module fields itself?
Is this what you need?
As a side note, I also just tested again with 3 tags on the sheet instead of just 1 and got a different error!

(edit: looking at it right now mailchimp seems to be having errors so this new one might be from that)
Hmm it looks like all the required fields are mapped, and the variables do contain a value. So this is likely a bug with the module.
For technical issues or bugs like this, directly contacting support can often lead to a faster resolution. They have access to your specific account details, scenario and scenario logs, server-side logs, and internal tools and resources, which allows them to investigate more thoroughly than what you have access to. Additionally, sharing sensitive information about your account or scenario might not be suitable for an open forum discussion.
You can open a new ticket here, or if you are unable to login for some reason, you can create another new free account to access the ticketing system (which is only available to logged-in users). Alternatively, you should be able to send an email to helpdesk@make.com and support@make.com and it should create a ticket. After submitting a new ticket, you will receive an automatic confirmation email with the subject “Ticket Created” in the subject. If you do not receive this, try sending the ticket again.
If you manage to get your issue resolved with support, we’d still love to hear about it! Sharing your solution on the forum can help others facing similar problems.
Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.
