Google Social Auth 400 error: Your key is too long

Has anyone experienced module errors for some, but not all Google accounts sending Social Auth bundles? I’m using this scenario with Memberstack/Webflow to take inputs from sign up forms over to newly created CMS items in Webflow.

I’ve managed to get social auth and full branches to work just fine with typical personal Google accounts and LinkedIn as well, but my paid Google Workspace account is causing an error in Make as it tries to use that social auth bundle to create a CMS item for Webflow. Make comes back with “[400] Bad Request: Your key is too long”

The only thing I can notice is that the image URL from the paid Google Workspace profile does seem pretty long compared to others. Any merit to that guess? If so, any course correction that I could make? It’s my first foray into Make, so apologies if my terminology is off.

Welcome to the Make community!

That looks like a valid URL, and I don’t think your error is about the URL field.

If you need further assistance, please provide the following:

1. Relevant Screenshots

Please share screenshots of your scenario, any error messages, relevant module fields, and filters in question? It would really help other community members to see what you’re looking at.

You can upload images here using the Upload icon in the text editor:

2. Scenario Blueprint

Please export the scenario blueprint file to allow others to view the mapped variables in the module fields. At the bottom of the scenario editor, you can click on the three dots to find the Export Blueprint menu item.

3. Output Bundles of Modules

Please provide the output bundles of the modules by running the scenario (or get from the scenario History tab), then click the white speech bubble on the top-right of each module and select “Download input/output bundles”.

A. Upload as Text File

Save each bundle contents in your text editor as a bundle.txt file, and upload it here into this discussion thread.

B. Insert as Formatted Code Block

If you are unable to upload files on this forum, alternatively you can paste the formatted bundles.
These are the two ways to format text so that it won’t be modified by the forum:

  • Method 1: Type code block manually

    Add three backticks ``` before and after the content/bundle, like this:

    ```
    content goes here
    ```

  • Method 2. Highlight and click the format button in the editor

Providing the input/output bundles will allow others to replicate what is going on in the scenario even if they do not use the external service.

Following these steps will allow others to assist you here. Thanks!

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.

P.S.: Investing some effort into the Make Academy will save you lots of time and frustration using Make.

Hey @samliew thanks for the reply. After several hundred runs, I’m revisiting this as we finally got the same error again, again with the only noticeably different detail for the user being an extremely long image URL coming from a Google account. I’d appreciate a look but I’m concerned with privacy of info in the output bundles. Is there anyway for me to provide those requested and hide sensitive info?

Yes, you can engage a professional privately to avoid posting on this forum.

Did you know, this forum has a Hire a Pro category, where you can post your request for off-site specialised help on other platforms (video call/screenshare/private messaging/etc.)? This may help you get your issue resolved faster especially if it is urgent. It is important to post your request in the Hire a Pro category, as forum members are not allowed to advertise their services (even offer FREE assistance to help) in other categories like here. Once you have posted in the Hire a Pro category, that will allow other members like me to provide booking links to our calendars for a free consultation and video assistance (including screenshare)!

Hope this helps!

@samliew

Understood. Thanks for the input!
