IML function deployment for Custom Apps Development badge — Tally form closed, helpdesk ticket open

Hi everyone,

I’m completing the Custom Apps Development Practical Challenge to earn the specialty badge and have hit a process blocker that I’d appreciate help with.

The situation

The challenge instructions (August 2023 PDF) reference a Tally form at tally.so/r/3Ell6B for submitting custom IML functions, since custom IML access is disabled in the standard developer console. That form is now permanently closed and shows “This form can’t receive new submissions at this moment.”

Per Make’s current documentation, the new path is the helpdesk under the IML functions category. I submitted a ticket two days ago with both function definitions and full app details, and also sent a follow-up email.

My app status

  • App slug: app-academy-v3-ulhkow (eu1)
  • All 12 modules + 2 RPCs built
  • 10 modules fully tested and working
  • Polish complete: Interface, Samples, capability-filtered dropdowns, Groups, icon, OAuth refresh
  • Blocked on: IML deployment for splitIntoBytes (Upload a File) and verifyHmacSha256 (Watch Records). Without these, the final two modules can’t be runtime-tested.

What I’m hoping to learn

  1. Is the helpdesk the correct current submission channel, or has it moved somewhere else?
  2. Has anyone else completing this badge run into the same closed-form issue recently? What was the resolution?
  3. Approximate timeline expectations for IML deployment via helpdesk?
  4. Is there a Make staff member who handles badge-related IML deployments specifically I should tag?

Happy to share the function code or app details with anyone helping.

Thanks!
