MeisterTask connection fails only for specific Business account – works on Free Trial

Getting help

 What is the problem & what have you tried?

Hi everyone,

I’m running into a strange issue with the MeisterTask integration and wanted to check if anyone has seen this before.

Setup:

Make.com

Facebook Lead Ads → MeisterTask (Create a task)

Problem:
When creating a MeisterTask connection in Make, I get the error:
“Service is temporarily unavailable.”

What’s confusing:

:white_check_mark: Connection works perfectly with a MeisterTask Free Trial account

:cross_mark: Connection fails with a licensed MeisterTask Business account

The error appears during connection creation, not during scenario execution

Login window opens normally, then fails after authentication

What we already ruled out:

Not a general MeisterTask outage

Not a Make-wide issue

Not browser / pop-up / cookie related

Same Make scenario, same steps – only the MeisterTask account differs

Assumptions / questions:

Could this be related to a specific MeisterTask workspace state (older workspace, migrated from Free → Business)?

Does Make require the connecting user to be a workspace Owner (not just Admin) for MeisterTask?

Is it possible that the OAuth / API access is broken or disabled on a per-workspace basis in MeisterTask?

Has anyone experienced a Business account failing while Free Trial works?
Any hints on what exactly Make expects from the MeisterTask side (permissions, workspace settings, API scopes)?

Thanks in advance :folded_hands:

Have tried deleting the old connection and creating a new one? Have you tried deleting the module and adding a new one? What have you done about this right now?

Yes, I already tried all of that.
I deleted the old connections, created new ones, removed the module and added it again.

To rule out a configuration issue, I tested with two different MeisterTask accounts:

  • Free Trial MeisterTask account → works perfectly

  • Paid Business MeisterTask account → fails with “Service is temporarily unavailable” during connection creation

Same Make scenario, same steps.

I also tested:

  • different browsers

  • different IP addresses / networks

MeisterTask’s & Make’s Server Status is currently online so there’s no problem on their ends right now but you’re experiencing a 503 error.

Here’s a few more things to confirm:

Are you the workspace owner not just an admin?

Have you enabled API access already in your admin settings? Recheck if you’ve set any restrictions whatsoever.

Here are a few more things you can try:

You’re positive that you’re using the correct credentials when connecting, right?

Do you have a separate account to test it? You can try to use a fresh account if that’s possible on your end.

These steps will help us confirm and rule out any account-related issues.

I’ll wait for your reply.

I’m currently on the “Create new OAuth 2.0 application” page in MeisterTask.
However, Make uses its own OAuth client, and the connection works without creating any OAuth app on Free Trial accounts.

So this does not seem to be related to missing API keys or OAuth app configuration on my side.

Yes I am the owner of the Account.

Yes, then the issue likely comes from a connection verification failure (token mismatches) rather than API configuration. It’s better contact Make support with scenario logs or MeisterTask support for this issue.

Thank you for your help. I reached out to MeisterTasks Support.

I’ll tell the reason when I know it.

Sounds good! Let me know how it goes.
