I hate to bring up a old topic but the previous solution with images from imgur.com seems not working on Google Drive pictures.
I am using the Instagram module to create a photo post. The URL is a downloadable link to a picture that is fully shared (“anyone with link”).
[WORKAROUND] It works if you upload the image to your media in Wordpress and from there get the link. I just tried. Make sure you config the photo url properly since the module create media does not provide media url. So, depending on your wordpress media url structure, just adjust.
Just update: I was told by Buffer API people (it is another platform I am using to manage multiple channels of social medias) that they think the problem with posting image links on Instagram is that Instagram takes time to process so it may not respond well to “post immediately” requests via API. The solution is to set a delay of 5 min to post via Buffer API.
I don’t know if it makes sense but I just tested and it works. No changes were needed on the URL of images (which is a Google Drive link fully shared).
Hope that helps.
Thank you for raising this in the community and for sharing the workarounds you’ve discovered. It’s always great to see Makers helping each other out.
I just wanted to let you know that at this time, we’re not aware of any widespread issues affecting the Instagram for Business modules.
That said, if you’re encountering this error and the proposed workarounds don’t do the trick for you, please open a support ticket with our Customer Care team. They will be able to investigate further and point you in the right direction.
Certain! My work-around is to use Buffer module instead of directly using Instagram module. It requires to register a Buffer account and the free account is sufficient.
After register Buffer and linked my Instagram inside Buffer website, then in Make.com scenario I logged in Buffer module (create a pose), there is an option of either “post now” or “in queue” or “set a delay”. I tried “post now” before and it had the same issue as the Instagram module. But when I set a delay the post went through.
