i want to search google for companies based in a specific location, filtering the ones that dont have an active website attached to them and then adding the company name to an excel spreadsheet.
I am very new to make.com so i may be attempting something that isnt possible, just looking for some guidance.

Google search might not provide structured results including business details like website.
For Google My Business, I think that’s only for the business you own.
Perhaps may I suggest using Google Maps instead?

i was thinking google maps would be better function.
The issue really though is the possibilty of filtering results based on active website. You think this is possible?
How do you define “active website”?
so a lot of SME’s or startuops dont have websites -
can see there that 2 of the businesses have websites and 2 don’t.
Perhaps one step at a time. Set up the Google Maps module first and see what output it gives?

i appreciate the help - i have only recently discovered make, so even setting up the google maps search function is proving difficult. But i am currently running through all the courses. Hopefully get there in the end.
Did you manage to find a way to scrape Google SERPS (At least fist 3-5 results would be enough in my case).
The reason is exactly the same, I already have a list that I scraped with Google Maps, but 50% don’t have websites on them, while a google search usually gives me either an e-mail or a website, which helps tailor the e-mail even better:)
I did ! it took an enormous amount of trial and error though !
can you be so kind to give me some tips on how to do the same? I got a list of business names, numbers and addresses, but most of them are missing website/email

As google maps module doesn’t give the necessary information of the business including website url or any other like hours or contact.
We have recently made a workflow on this using google maps API that will give you the website url also.
Please let us know your complete requirement if you still need help with this.

@Msquare_Automation , thanks a lot, but this doesn’t solve it for me, as the business doesn’t have a website at all, or in many cases, they have, but it’s not included in the G-maps profile (cause a good 1/3 of the GBP are not claimed).
The reason why I need the SERP results ,is to scrape those pages for a potential E-mail or even better, a website that wasn’t linked to GBP (after, using the HTTP get connector)
