Shopify product creation > Google sheets

Hi there! im new here and ive been going down a rabbit hole for 1 week with shopify and google sheets automation, im going slightly mad cause i cant work it out - I’d like to be able to create a product on shopify and have data sent to google sheets and then I’d like to be able to update that product, especially inventory levels via google sheet - my question is is this possible? and most importantly am I going about it in the right way? Is there a better way of doing it…I wanted to see what you all thought - any help would be greatly appreciated, i just cant work it out

I’ve been using Make (Integromat) to push products from Google Sheets to Shopify, and it’s worked surprisingly well once you map everything correctly. The key is formatting your sheet with headers that match Shopify’s API fields—like title, price, and inventory. Also, always test with one item first. It saves a ton of cleanup time if something gets misaligned.

@ashleyharvey19 thanks so much for the knowledge! Yeah I hear you, I’ve learnt that’s really important to save the modules cancelling out each other.. I’ve had to give it all a break for a few days it was frying my brain :joy:

@ashleyharvey19 can I just ask do you think I’m going about it the wrong way by creating the products first on Shopify (something I’m used to) and then sending to Google sheets and then being able to update the product eg inventory, description from google sheets or do you think it’s better just controlling everything directly from Google sheets like a main hub and if that’s the case are you able to categorise products into collections and pretty much do whatever you want as long as you map right? Thanks for replying!
