Step-by-Step Guide to Creating an Instagram Auto-Reply Bot with Make.com

Hello, Makers !

We are excited to share a new tutorial where we explore how to boost your Instagram engagement using advanced automation techniques with Make. This tutorial is divided into two detailed scenarios:

  1. Tracking New Instagram Posts: We’ll set up an automation to monitor new Instagram posts and save the essential data to a Google Sheet.
  2. Automating Replies: We’ll then take the media ID from these posts, extract comments, and use ChatGPT-4 to craft suitable replies. The final step involves implementing these replies to automatically respond to Instagram comments.

This guide is designed to help you enhance your social media engagement through automation. Whether you’re looking to save time or improve your response rates, this tutorial will provide you with the tools you need to succeed.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and seeing how you apply these techniques to your Instagram strategy!

Thans for sharing these scenarios. Also, have you thought about what Meta does with responding “directly” to a post? Are there problems behind that in terms of getting a ban?

Hi @Joost.7AM

Thanks for reaching out to us. The bot uses native Instagram module which runs Meta API at the backend.

To iterate, this is not a crawling bot. Instead, authorized API of Instagram powered by Meta. Hence, there is no chance of getting a ban.

Got it! Thanks for the feedback. But still to be sure: Is there a way to add a maximum of like 10 comments a day?

Yes, you can control the limit in the scenario easily.

For whoever wanna now how to add a maximum.

Just add your count at the bottom of the Excel module, at:

“Maximum number of returned rows”

great tips thank you. Is there a way to also respond to story comments - i guess these are more like direct messages but I could not see any modules for doing this.

Hi @Msquare_Automation, thanks for the great post!!

A couple of questions on this…

  1. Why do you need 2 separate scenarios? Wouldn’t you be able to implement the same 7-day filter whilst you run a single scenario? And,
  2. how do you prevent the scenario from replying AGAIN to the same messages the next time it runs? I am trying out a scenario but EVERY TIME it runs, it will go and reply AGAIN to comments it had already replied to the last time it ran :frowning:

Congrats on your automation. I was researching the possibility to continue the conversation (e.g. move the user through the conversation toward a goal). I was wondering if you did something like that.
