Update Hubspot Connector to use Hubspot Private App Tokens to avoid key person risk

We’ve setup a private app with all the required scopes in Hubspot, but not it appears unless I’m mistaken, the Hubspot connector only allows authorisation via Oauth or a Hubspot Developer API key. Both are unacceptable as they have the issue of key person risk, if the person leaves the organisation and their account deactivated the integration will break.

Can the connector be updated to utilize the Private App functionality and connect with the Apps access token and secret?

If I’ve missed something and this is actually possible please let me know - searched both in these forums and google without much luck.

Hi Gazmeist. Welcome to the Community!

The problem is that if our HubSpot app that didn’t use OAuth, Make would not be listable in the HubSpot app marketplace - see the HubSpot listing requirements.

The best workarounds are either for you to use the Make HTTP app, or to build your own Custom App in Make using a Private App connection.

Does it impact listing if the option to use hte private app is just an additional option to the existing ones? Does that disqualify it?

That’s our understanding of the terms, based on the available info and conversation with HubSpot.
