Automation to send an email when replying to a request message

Hello everyone!

I’m trying to set up an automation in Make to manage member approvals in my community. Here’s the workflow I’m aiming for:

When someone requests to join, we receive an automated message in a private Slack channel with the client’s information. If we reply in the thread or react with a specific emoji to approve, I want an email to be sent automatically to that person saying, “Congratulations, you’ve been approved!”

Does anyone have suggestions on how to configure this automation? If there’s an alternative flow to achieve a similar approval process, I’m open to ideas! Thanks!

Hi @40_League and welcome to the Make Community!

If you look in the templates section there are a few templates for Slack sending messages to other platforms.

One of them is sending a message to Telegram. You can use that as a starting point by replacing the Telegram configuration with a GMal/Email configuration.

You can tell the Slack trigger to react to a specific event, in this case probably your emoji or reply.
