I have the following scenario :
I get a notion database item,
With the infos, I generate a GDocs file,
I want to save the pdf document in a dedicated property (media and files) in the Notion database.
Does your current setup work, or have you encountered any errors?
Everything works fine,
I can save the google doc link in the “media and files” property of my notion dabase row,
And when I click on it in Notion, it obviously redirect me to Google Docs.
But I want a proper pdf export from GDocs, then a proper pdf import to Notion.
My end goal is to have the pdf file only stored in Notion
That’s not possible currently - the Notion API doesn’t allow direct file upload to Notion; you need to store the file in a file storage software
Yes, I find that Notion API was created as an “afterthought”, and is a pita to work with. The platform is getting old and obsolete.
Nowadays, in the age of no-code and automation, it is preferable to work with services that adopts an “API-first” approach for development of their product. One of them is document360.
Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.
