Issue with Android > Send Text Message Module - SMS Not Sent Despite Success Logs

Hello Make.com Community,

I am experiencing an issue with the Android > Send Text Message module in my scenario. The module appears to execute successfully according to the logs, but the SMS is not being sent to the recipient. I have followed the setup instructions, including connecting my device via the Make mobile app and enabling SMS permissions, but the problem persists.

Device: Samsung Galaxy S24

Android Version: 14

Make App Version: 2.0.5

Logs: I have attached a screenshot of the logs from the Make mobile app (timestamp: 2025-06-21 15:59:45 to 15:59:56 CEST). The logs show “Scheduled SMS with delay [300000]” and “Action (send_sms) was executed successfully” with status=0 and error=null, but no SMS is received.

Steps Taken:

Confirmed SMS permissions are enabled for the Make app (SMS, Phone, Storage).

Disabled battery optimization and enabled autodstart for the Make app.

Tested with Google Messages as the default SMS app (previously Samsung Messages).

Cleared the app cache and reconnected the device via QR code.

Manually sent SMS works fine from the default app.

Downloaded the Make mobile app directly from the official website (not from Google Play) as recommended.

Network: LTE with strong signal, no airplane mode, SMSC number verified with my operator.

Observation: The issue seems specific to the Android module, as manual SMS works, and the logs indicate success without reflecting the actual send failure.

Expected Behavior: The SMS should be sent and received by the recipient when the scenario runs.

Actual Behavior: The SMS is not sent, despite the logs showing success.

I suspect this might be related to compatibility with Android 14 on Samsung devices or a limitation in the module’s interaction with the SMS API.

Thank you for your assistance!

Best regards,

Question 1:

Is your SIM card in slot 0?

Yep with my operator.

Question 2:

Did you enable the SMS sending action on your phone?

To use the SMS functions, you must install the unrestricted Make app for Android. These functions will not work if you are using the app downloaded from Google Play.

Additionally, you must enable SMS in the mobile settings of the unrestricted app.

Hope this helps!

Question 3:

Your phone’s Android version might have blocked the SMS sending permission.

Did you Allow restricted settings?

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.

@samliew

Yep like I said in my first message : I did all that, and I downloaded the make app from the website and not from Google Play Store.

I attached all that points.

I don’t know what to do… thanks for your help :folded_hands:

Welcome to the Make community!

In that case, this is a bug with the Android app as it is reproducible. Please contact support and link them to this thread.

Contact Make Support

For complex technical issues or bugs like this, contacting Make support by creating a ticket is the only official option available to Make customers.

Make support has access to your specific account details, scenario, execution history, server-side logs, and has internal tools to investigate the issue further. If the issue is with a custom app, Make support will also be able to reach out to the developer. Also, you might need to share potentially sensitive information about your account, organisation, scenario, and execution history logs, which is not advisable here on this public forum.

Search for Updates First

Before creating a support ticket, do try to look around if others are facing the same problem too. Here are some things you can do —

  1. Check the Make Status page to see if it is an ongoing network-wide issue/outage, and view any updates of internal investigations (example).

  2. Search this Make forum to see if there are any discussions, updates, and workarounds. Here are some possible search terms you can use:

How to Create a Support Ticket

If you are logged-in, you can head to the new ticket page to submit a ticket. (If you are unable to login to your main account, it is advised to create a new account to access this page.)

Screenshot of the Create New Ticket page

After submitting your support ticket, you should receive a confirmation email with the subject “Ticket Created” together with a summary of what you submitted. If you do not receive this automated reply within minutes, try creating a ticket again.

Example of email subject: [#1234567] Ticket created | Technical challenge

Priority of Tickets

If you do not receive a response from Make support, simply be patient. Make support receives thousands of tickets daily, therefore they have to prioritise tickets based on the organisation’s subscription plan. For more information about the different levels of customer support, you may refer to the “Support” section on the Pricing page, or on your organisation’s Subscription tab.

Resolution

When your issue is resolved one way or another, we’d love to hear more details about the cause, and how you managed to solve it (including use of workarounds). By sharing your findings and solutions, we are contributing to this knowledgebase to enable others to search for answers to similar problems.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues. P.S.: investing some effort into the tutorials in the Make Academy will save you lots of time and frustration using Make!
