Paypal + Sendy

Hi Everyone… Super newbie to “triggers” and need some help.

I have a paid newsletter that I’m starting.

I’m using Sendy to send out the emails.

So, I want to automatically add a subscriber to a list in Sendy after they have made a payment using Paypal.

Also, if the subscriber decides to cancel their subscription, I want them to be removed from the list automatically.

I see I can connect the two, but I’m a bit confused on exactly how to set it up.

  1. I entered my Sendy url along with the api key.

  2. I entered the subscriber list number.

  3. Did i get the name and the email fields correct? I just dragged and dropped them from the Paypal popup.

  4. I added the webhook to my Paypal account.

Did I set this up correctly?

After I add the Paypal button code to my payment page, is there something I need to add to it so that it uses the webhook?

Sorry for the newbie questions, but I’m a bit lost right now.

Thanks in advance for any help or assistance…

Congratulations @RK1 on the paid newsletter. Earning your own money is an incredible journey.

It seems like you’re on the right track because I see the PayPal notifications in the screenshot. However, you must test, test, test. Especially when other people’s money is involved. Else your life will be migraine filled.

In your case, pretend to be the paying subscriber to get the PayPal operations to fire off, which would check that the webhook or notifications are working as expected.

For the unsubscribe, it might be like the subscription scenario or a new branch therein, but you’re looking for a different parameter coming from PayPal.
