Hi- is anyone else having problems with the new ‘Message an Assistant’ module for OpenAI that came out in the last couple weeks? No matter what I do, I get the error “Invalid image.” even though I am just sending text (in the message box), and no images. The image files and image URL boxes are empty. My scenario using the previous version of the module continues to work fine, but the exact same everything with the new ‘message an assistant module’ gives this error. Any ideas would be much appreciated, its driving me bananas…

Looks like this is a bug, since the image field is optional, and you have left it blank.
For technical issues or bugs like this, directly contacting support can often lead to a faster resolution. They have access to your specific account details, scenario and scenario logs, server-side logs, and internal tools and resources, which allows them to investigate more thoroughly than what you have access to. Additionally, sharing sensitive information about your account or scenario might not be suitable for an open forum discussion.
You can open a new ticket here, or if you are unable to login for some reason, you can create another new free account to access the ticketing system (which is only available to logged-in users).

Hi Sam! Yes, I hoped the same as well- I contacted support (ticket #1036990), but they just replied ‘sorry, looks like an OpenIA issue’. That doesn’t make sense as I can send the same message to an assistant either in the OpenAI playground or on Zapier and it works, so it really seems like a problem with the Make.com module. Hopefully support comes back with some … support, in which case I’ll share the solution in the forum.
I couldn’t get any external help with this, but I think I figured out what the bug is- if you message an assistant with an invalid image URL (or even if the URL was valid when you messaged the assistant but no longer is), any subsequent messages to that thread, even if they don’t have any image at all, will return the same error. Its like that thread is spoiled with that bad image repeating each subsequent call. You need to find a way to remove it from the thread history. So technically it is a problem with OpenAI and the assistants API, not with make
