Unfortunately, this is not possible. I believe the current form of templates is being deprecated in favor of another approach.
It is not currently possible to develop templates for community apps (more precisely, you can create a template but it’s not possible to publish it). As a workaround, you could create a scenario and export its blueprint and share that with your customers. Your customers could then import it, provided that they first install your app.
