I was working troubleshooting scenarios with ChatGPT through the ChatGPT Make plugin, then all stopped and the plugin in not on the list anymore? Anybody knows what’s happening
Same problem. Been working with it for two weeks, and now nothing. What is going on? I went back to Make’s pop-up, “Build and run scenarios from Claude or ChatGPT.” It still says there is a plugin, and the link now opens a page that says, “We couldn’t load this plugin right now.”
MCP is only helpful if you’re a Chat GPT Business & above user. I’m a Plus user of Chat GPT and no workaround to the Make plugin being down that I have found so far
Hi @Kate_Hoxey , thanks for flagging this. ChatGPT Plus subscriptions are supported too, and the workaround isn’t limited to ChatGPT Business accounts. I tested it myself with a Free personal ChatGPT account, and it worked as well.
One minor constraint I have found with the MCP workaround on a plus account, it can only be used in work chats. Normal chats get booted back out when triggering a make scenario with the error: FORBIDDEN: This conversation does not support developer MCPs.
Hey @Chloe_C
Unfortunately, the Make plugin for ChatGPT is temporarily unavailable. Our team is putting all their efforts into restoring access as soon as possible.
We will keep you updated and post here as soon as we have news. In the meantime, follow this guide to connect Make to ChatGPT or Codex with our official Make MCP server.
Hey @Kate_Hoxey
Sorry to hear you are having troubles around the MCP. What I was able tofind is that this is something of a limitation / bug on OpenAI / ChatGPT side.
Yes it seems to be a Chat GPT limitation for Plus users that MCP’s are only allowed in a “Work” chat. It’s been consistently rejected in normal chats regardless of the project I am working on but any “Work” chats cope with it fine. The only irritating restriction is the usage limits with a Plus account and “Work”, an issue I didn’t run into with the normal Make plug-in. I can work around it for the time being until the usual plugin is restored, was more a note for anyone else trying the MCP route on a Plus account with Chat GPT
Correction - I have tested a fresh project and a “normal” chat. I tagged my Make MCP connector and fired a test through the workflow and it passed. Fresh project files it is!
Not sure if we’re on the same page, but if you want to use Make via ChatGPT on the website, follow this guide and choose “How to install Make in ChatGPT on the web”
I’d first check whether the ChatGPT integration was renamed or replaced rather than assuming it was removed completely. If it disappeared from the plugin list while you were using it, there could also be a temporary issue with the connection or availability. It might be worth checking the Make community announcements as well, since others may have run into the same thing.
Update: Temporary beta access restored for existing users
OpenAI has restored temporary beta access to the Make plugin for users who previously installed it. If that includes you, check the Installed section of your Plugins directory. You should be able to use Make in ChatGPT again, although you may encounter some interface issues during this temporary access period.
The plugin remains unlisted in directory browsing and search while we continue working with OpenAI on restoring full availability.
