Schedule posts to 8 social platforms from Make.com with Social by InstantDM (native nodes, API, and webhooks)

Hi everyone,

Disclosure: I’m part of the InstantDM team, which makes Social by InstantDM. I’m sharing this because I think it’s useful for anyone automating content, and I’d like your feedback.

What it is

Social by InstantDM (https://socialbyidm.com/) is a social media scheduler that publishes natively to Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and more from one workspace. It has native Make.com nodes, a REST API, and signed webhooks, so you can plug posting into any scenario.

The problem I wanted to solve

Most scenarios I see in the community end with “send an email” or “add a row.” Very few end with “publish the content.” Teams still copy captions from a sheet into a scheduler by hand, which is exactly the kind of work Make.com should be doing.

A scenario you can copy

New blog post to LinkedIn and X, automatically.

  1. Trigger: RSS (Watch RSS feed items)
  2. Text parser or Set variable: pull the title, link, and summary
  3. AI module of your choice: write one longer caption for LinkedIn and one short caption for X
  4. Social by InstantDM: schedule the post to your connected accounts
  5. Slack or Email: confirm what was queued

Please check the exact module names in your own scenario editor, since labels can differ between versions.

If you prefer the HTTP module

You can also call the API directly. One request can publish to several accounts:

POST https://social-api.instantdm.com/v1/posts
X-Api-Key: sk_live_xxx
Content-Type: application/json

{
  "accountIds": ["acc_8fK2qz", "acc_19xQ"],
  "content": "We just published a new article. Link below.",
  "publishNow": true
}

Use a scoped key per workspace, so you can rotate or revoke it without touching anything else.

Using webhooks to close the loop

When a post goes live, Social by InstantDM fires a post.published webhook, signed with HMAC SHA256 and sent with retry and backoff. In Make.com, point a Custom webhook module at it and you can:

  • log every published post to Google Sheets or Airtable
  • notify your team in Slack
  • trigger the next step in a campaign

Tips from testing

  • Send each platform its own caption. One text for every network performs worse.
  • Add an approval step before publishing if the account belongs to a client.
  • Run the scenario manually on a test account before you switch on scheduling.
  • Keep an eye on your operations count if your trigger fires often, and filter early.

Pricing note

Scheduling is unlimited on every plan. Pricing is based on connected accounts and workspaces, and there is a 4 day free trial. Check the pricing page for current numbers.

What I’d love to know

Which scenarios would you build with this? Is there a trigger or action you wish the node supported (analytics pulls, first comment hashtags, bulk CSV queues)? Tell me what’s missing and I’ll take it back to the team.

Thanks for reading, and happy to answer questions in the thread.
