Sending text to a group in particular section in an Asana Project using Twilio

Hi, I would like to send text to a group in a particular section inside an Asana Project. Please let me know if anyone could help me. I’m willing to hire a developer to help me with this task. I think the work flow would be Asana → Make → Twilio. I’m open for any other solutions. Thanks.

Hello @Hareendra

I can definitely help you with this! I’ve built something similar, Asana → Make → Twilio workflows, before sending automated messages or updates to specific project sections.

I can help you automate sending text messages from Asana to Twilio via Make (Integromat). I’ve built multiple similar automations where messages are triggered by updates or actions in specific project sections.

Let’s connect — I can set this up quickly and ensure smooth, reliable communication flow.

Hi Hareendra,

Looks like your project teams are using Asana sections for client updates — that’s a great way to stay organized. I can help you build a workflow that automatically sends text messages when tasks move into a specific section.

Your Asana → Make → Twilio idea is solid. I’d enhance it with:

  • Smart dynamic triggers (task movement or tagging)

  • Personalized text content from Asana fields

  • Error logs + optional WhatsApp or email notifications for reliability

This setup can save your team 2–3 hours weekly in manual messaging. Happy to review your current setup for free to confirm the best approach.

We can continue discussions securely in my official Fiverr workspace if you’d like.

Hi Hareendra,

I can definitely help you set up the Asana to Twilio integration.

Using Make is a solid approach for sending texts when tasks hit specific sections. There are a few different ways to implement this depending on your exact requirements.

Would be happy to discuss your specific needs and timeline to get this working for you.

Feel free to reach out to chat more about it.

Hey Hareendra!

Here’s how to send texts when Asana tasks move to specific sections:

Workflow:

Asana: Watch Events → Filter (by section) → Get Phone Numbers → Twilio: Send SMS

Setup:

1. Trigger

  • Module: Asana > Watch Events
  • Event: Task moved to section

2. Filter

  • Condition: Section Name = "Your Target Section"

3. Get Phone Numbers You need to store phone numbers somewhere:

  • Asana Custom Field: Add “Phone Number” to tasks
  • Google Sheets: User email → phone lookup
  • Airtable: Team member directory

4. Send SMS

  • Module: Twilio > Send SMS
  • To: {{phone_number}}
  • Message: Task "{{task.name}}" moved to {{section.name}} - {{task.permalink_url}}

For Multiple Recipients: Add Iterator (array: task followers) → Twilio SMS

Key Question: Where are your team’s phone numbers currently stored?
