Hello guys, as an aspiring Make Scenario builder, securing the first client is probably one of the happiest milestones we can achieve.
I’m not even a month old in the forums yet, but I already see a lot of experts here - people who have been into automation for years, people who have programming backgrounds, people who are running their agencies, and so on.
As someone who is still in the no code to low code level, it’s overwhelming yet I’m grateful to be surrounded by such people.
I’d love to listen to the story about the time when you had your very first client. Did you feel that you were ready at that time? Was your first task easy? Did you charge them an expensive or lower price?

Hello there!
Pretty interesting subject, and looking forwards other members feedback on their experiences!
As for myself, the first “client” I found, was someone for of my surrounding.
That’s something I highly recommend to start with, as you already have trust and no need to do aaaaall the things that might sounds scary when starting on that journey (i.e. sales, business, communication, etc…).
On top of that, it allowed me to start some concrete work while continuing learning the software, without stressing out that much about the end product:
- you have more space for experimenting
- your friend/family will be more tolerant regarding of the delays
- you won’t be scared about giving more ideas for further projects
- you can go back to upgrade it later on if needed
- and it gives you a taste of some things you need to take in consideation when starting that journey (time spent on a project, time saved, security, project saves, working on the clients “machines/softwares”, sketches…)
I used it a way to find a “niche”, and by getting a small ticket out of it, as I was only beginning. So that’s a win-win
I hope it will help you out to start your journey as well!
Wishing you all the best!

Thank you so much Thib.
I totally understand when you said that I could find my first client in the connections that I already have, the people close to me. As an introvert tho, I have almost non-existent connections so I guess it’s not an option for me. I’m so happy that it worked for you tho.
Also looking forward to the stories of the other members. It seems like the majority is kind of a one-man army. I wonder if there were people who grew by joining agencies or being mentored.
