I have a strange keyboard input issue in the Make scenario editor.
When I type manually into a field, each new character is inserted before the previous character, so the text appears backwards.
For example, when I try to type:
Message
I get something like:
egasseM
Copy/paste works correctly.
The issue only occurs in Make. My keyboard works normally everywhere else, including in Chrome.
I have already tested the following:
Google Chrome normal mode: the problem occurs
Chrome Incognito mode: typing works correctly
Disabled McAfee WebAdvisor: no change
Deleted cookies/site data for make.com and eu1.make.com: no change
Changed my Make profile locale from French: no change
The issue occurs in fields inside the Make scenario editor, for example Tools → Set variable → Variable name
Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?
It seems that in normal Chrome mode, the cursor/input position is being reset before each new character.
Thank you!
Error messages or input/output bundles
No error message. The issue is with keyboard input in the Make scenario editor UI.
Almost certainly a browser extension. Your own test results point straight at it: Incognito disables extensions by default, and that’s the only situation where typing works.
Do you have other extensions that are active? Is the problem resolved when you disable them and reload Make?
Hi Christian, the only other thing I found is that disabling McAfee WebAdvisor may not be enough; the McAfee desktop suite can install multiple browser components, so check for a second McAfee entry in the list in chrome://extensions
Have you tried asking AI? I know this is not a real answer from me, but the problem is not Make related but somewhere in your browser.
Thank you for trying to help me. It appears to be an issue with my Google installation. I have contacted Google and asked them to help me find a solution.
