Upload a PDF from a Weblink

Hi Everyone!

I am currently trying to automate my invoices from purolator. They send an email with a link to their billing centre and the following information: account number, account name, invoice number, invoice date, invoice amount, and invoice due date.

The problem occurs because of how the purolator site operates. When you login it doesn’t create a unique hyperlink and if you reload it takes you to the sign in page. This is making it so it won’t login in Make and is just returning the formatting of the site.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Natalie_Voith

Why not try a mailhook that activates when that email with the link arrives, extract the link from the email, and then continue with your scenario?

Best regards

Hi @ipoblete ,

Because of work policy, I cannot give Make access to my email. As well as the link in the email is the same one I linked above, it’s just the link to the billing login.

Best regards.

Hi @Natalie_Voith

What I can think of is that if the format is always the same in the data, use a confirmation from a Tool module to set a variable using substring and indexOf to search for a specific string, for example https://, and use that to extract the link.

Best regards

Welcome to the Make community!

It may or may not be possible, but traversing websites without an API is a form of web scraping, but this is very advanced stuff for experts.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.

P.S.: investing some effort into the tutorials in the Make Academy will save you lots of time and frustration using Make!

Hi @ipoblete

I’m not quite understanding what you are saying, would you be able to explain it in a bit more detail?

Best regards.

Hi @samliew

I’ll look into that thank you. I actually was originally doing my work on a personal account and have completed up to the intermediate training in Make Academy.

Thank you!
