Using an Existing WhatsApp Number in WhatsApp Business Cloud

Can I use an Existing WhatsApp Number in WhatsApp Business Cloud?

My client already has a WhatsApp for Business Number with several open chats. They want to start chats with phone numbers of new leads they receive via a form. They want to use the existing number to keep al chats in one place. Is this possible as the documentation states ‘You will need a separate dedicated phone number for the API.’ and ‘A valid business phone number must be registered before it can be used to send and receive messages via Cloud API. Registered numbers can still be used for everyday purposes, such as calling and text messages, but cannot be used with WhatsApp Messenger (“WhatsApp”).’
