Webhook instantly triggered when "Run Once" without receiving real data

Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing a strange issue with Make webhooks. When I create a new scenario with a completely fresh custom webhook (not embedded or linked anywhere), and then click “Run once”, the webhook instantly triggers with a green checkmark — even though no form has been submitted, and no data is received (no bundles generated).

To troubleshoot, I’ve:

  • Created multiple brand-new scenarios and custom webhooks.
  • Ensured the webhook URLs are not being pasted, embedded, previewed, or pinged by any app or form.
  • Used a form (Jotform Classic) with the webhook configured, and even without the form connected — same result.
  • Verified in Webhook.site that no real data hits Make’s webhook before I trigger it.

This makes it impossible to capture the first real webhook submission, since it immediately marks the webhook as “used” with no actual data.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? Could this be an internal ping by Make or something I’ve missed?

Any help or insight would be appreciated!

Welcome to the Make community!

  1. Is the scenario turned on?

  2. Do you see this message / are there any queued items in the Webhook queue?

You might need to clear your existing webhook queue before the newer data is processed. Click “Show queue” and delete all of the data, to only process new incoming webhooks from now on.

Alternatively, you can turn your scenario off and then on again. It will prompt you to delete all the data in the queue, or process all the older requests first.

Usually you will want to process all the older requests in the queue, but if you are just testing before you could probably just delete those.

Then, leave the scenario turned ON.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there are any further questions or issues.
