WhatsApp Business Coexistence – Watch Events not receiving incoming messages

:bullseye: What is your goal?

Hello,

I need technical assistance with my WhatsApp Business Cloud integration using Coexistence mode.

The initial connection issue (Resource not found / Error 400) has been resolved, and the connection now shows Verified in Make.

My current configuration is:

  • WhatsApp Business Cloud connection: Verified.
  • Meta Business Settings: my WhatsApp number is connected.
  • Make is listed as a partner with full control.
  • Webhook: WhatsApp Studio Galiotto – Active.
  • Event selected: Messages.
  • Scenario: Integration WhatsApp Business Cloud – Active.
  • Scenario ID: 7538860.

The problem:

When I send a test message from a different WhatsApp number, it arrives correctly in the WhatsApp Business app on my phone, but Make does not receive any event.

I tested this while the Watch Events module was running and waiting for data.

The webhook queue is empty, and the scenario execution history shows no executions triggered by incoming messages.

I also tried rebuilding the module, without success.

Could you please investigate whether your application is correctly subscribed to the “messages” webhook field for my WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), and check the server-side webhook delivery logs?

Please advise how to resolve this issue without disconnecting or re-registering my existing WhatsApp Business number, as I need to keep the mobile app and linked devices working.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

Marco Galiotto

 What is the problem & what have you tried?

ncoming WhatsApp messages arrive on my phone but do not trigger Make’s Watch Events module. I verified the connection, checked that the webhook and scenario are active, and sent several test messages from another number. I also tried rebuilding the module, without success.

:clipboard: Error messages or input/output bundles

No input/output bundles are available. The Watch Events module does not receive any incoming messages, and the scenario execution history is empty.

This is a coexistence mode gap that is very common. The “full control” toggle you see in Business Settings doesn’t guarantee the ‘messages’ field is actually subscribed to that specific WABA. Go to the Meta App dashboard, click on WhatsApp, then Configuration and finally Webhooks. Check the field subscriptions there directly. Coexistence connections sometimes need it re-confirmed for each WABA even when Make shows that it’s Verified.

Rebuilding the module isn’t the same as recreating it. If you registered the webhook before the connection was last re-verified, it might be pointing at a stale registration. Might want to try deleting the Watch Events module entirely and then add a fresh one. That forces Make to re-register the webhook against your current verified connection.

Finally, coexistence accounts can delay the Cloud API webhook delivery until history sync finishes. If you tested right after the linking, send a new test message now to a fresh conversation thread and see if it comes through.
