WhatsApp Business – new Cloud API module not receiving messages

Hi everyone,

I’ve been struggling with a WhatsApp Business integration for several days and I’m starting to get a bit desperate, so maybe someone here has experienced the same.

We are trying to use the new WhatsApp Cloud API module in Make.

  • The onboarding process in Make completed without errors.

  • Our WhatsApp Business Account ID in Meta matches the one connected in Make.

  • The display name has already been approved, but the phone number itself is still stuck in status “Pending Approval” in Meta Business Manager.

  • Because of that, no messages are being delivered into the Make scenario (the module just keeps spinning endlessly).

Previously we used the legacy WhatsApp module in Make, and everything worked perfectly. After moving to the new onboarding flow, nothing is working anymore.

I already contacted Meta Pro Team support. They confirmed the situation but couldn’t resolve it, and told me to ask in the Developers Community. Unfortunately, the Meta Developers Community won’t let me submit a ticket – it first blocked my text as “violating content” and then just threw a generic query error. :smiley: :smiley: So I can’t even reach them.

Could this really be only because the phone number is still stuck in “Pending Approval” (even though the display name is approved)? Or might there be some other reason why the new WhatsApp module in Make is not receiving incoming messages?
